The Diverpike is a long, fish-like enemy in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze that is always found in water, yet is able to breathe air. As a result, the creature will leap from the surface of the water when its territory is approached, flying in midair for a brief moment before diving at its target with its sharp snout, impaling Pikmin in its path, and then retreating to the waters to eat them. A Diverpike approached by underwater Blue Pikmin will simply charge at them to eat them up. A trick to fighting Diverpikes is to lure them into charging near a hard surface; they can scoop through sand and soil with ease, but their snout will embed into stone or metal, leaving them vulnerable to attack for a few seconds before they pull themselves out and return to the safety of the water.
