The Screeching Hoppmoth is an extremely large hoppmoth that appears in the Castaway Mode DLC of Pikmin E: Remastered. It is a large creature, with attributes of both a moth and a grasshopper, colored mostly dirt brown. They are normally only encountered in dark areas, such as caves or during night explorations. They are massive, usually having very high health, and do not go down easily, serving as a huge threat. However, defeating them yields great rewards. Upon seeing any Pikmin or leaders, they will charge after them at a fast pace, screeching loudly, jumping around to confuse the leaders, and once they strike, will impale and eat Pikmin with their scythe-like front limbs. They can also accidentally crush Pikmin under them. For some strange reason, Screeching Hoppmoths are resistant to poison.
