Attacks Crushes Pikmin

The Smashgren is a species of slabben in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature seems to be a very large, mossy, clay cube, which serves as a shell for a large, green bug. The Smashgren will remain idle until Pikmin approach it. When they do, it will slowly lean over towards them and attempt to land on them to crush them. The cube will pursue Pikmin until it is damaged by Rock Pikmin, whereupon the Smashgren will pick up its pace and gradually move faster as the cube is damaged. Weighted Pikmin and Dart Pikmin also do damage. This continues until the Smashgren's entire cube is destroyed. Small chunks of clay and a large, green bug will go flying. The bug will not attempt to recover and regenerate its chunks of rock; it will instead attempt to pick up chunks of rock and throw them at Pikmin to kill them. Any type of Pikmin can attack the bug and the clay chunks.

Notes

Olimar's notes

The Smashgren comes from a diverse species of insects that collect bits of debris from its environment to construct a hard exterior. This slabben is much more hostile, and will not attempt to run off if confronted in its true form. These small insects feed through the crushed, internal juices of dead prey like the Slabber. However, these insects tend to stay around deceased Claymard Crushers, feeding off of its body and collecting their clay to create their own exterior. These creatures are easily able to adapt from predators to scavengers at a moment's notice.

Louie's notes

Once the cube is broken, slice up this bug to make a good substitute for bologna in a sandwich!

President’s notes

After I shrunk these guys, I tried to use them as building blocks to pass the time. They just kept crushing my fingers, however. I wouldn’t recommend these for entertainment...
