In Pikmin: Before the Impact, Teal Pikmin are the fifth or last Pikmin species discovered depending on how soon Rock Pikmin are discovered, as the place where they are found in Clamclamp Shores is blocked by a glass wall. Teal Pikmin are a dark greyish blue and on the end of their stems can be a dark green leaf or a bud or flower with white petals. Like their Blue Pikmin descendants, they are immune to water, but can also survive rain, an environmental hazard. Under the command of Robert, Teal Pikmin can move faster and attack stronger. They seem to have a docile personality and appear to copy the actions of Robert and Cerulean Pikmin when they are nearby.

Teal Pikmin are, as the name suggests, teal Pikmin. Unlike most others of their kind, Teal Pikmin have a visible skeletal system because of their bioluminescence and, in place of a leaf, bud, or flower, a mysterious spiky puff on the end of their stem. They also have a bulbous head but are virtually the same size as other average-sized Pikmin. Teal Pikmin are immune to the effects of electricity, and have some power of plasma, being able to launch sparks of teal plasma at their foes. Furthermore, Teal Pikmin can see through walls using X-ray abilities, providing information on nearby enemies and plants that may be behind walls.
