Attacks Crushes Pikmin, causes boulders to fall, births Bulborb Larvae

The Silver Empress Bulblax is the matriarch of Silver Bulborbs and a relative of the Empress Bulblax. It appears in Pikmin 251. Like the Empress Bulblax, it is an enormous, grub-like creature found only in caves. It can be found either sleeping or birthing a seemingly endless number of Bulborb Larvae. Some Silver Empress Bulblaxes can cause boulders to fall from the ceiling of the sublevel it is found on just by colliding with walls while it rolls back and forth. Unlike the Dwarf Silver Bulborb and just like the Silver Bulborb, the Silver Empress Bulblax can be attacked on any part of its body to drain its health.

Silver Empress Bulblaxes have the body size and shape of an ordinary empress bulblax. They are large, obese creatures that are rendered completely immobilized by their sheer size. The top halves of their body segments are glossy gray in color, giving the creatures their name. They have a dark gray spot on either side of each of their body segments, and each segment has a light tan bottom. Two small legs dangle in the air under its head, which is covered by light skin. Its small eyes are bright green and supported by a pair of eyestalks.

A battle against a Silver Empress Bulblax is not much different than a battle against an Empress Bulblax. The only difference is that the Silver Empress Bulblax has more health. Like with Empress Bulblaxes, Silver Empress Bulblaxes should always be fought head-on, regardless of whether or not they birth Bulborb Larvae. Pikmin should be rapidly thrown onto its face or the section of its body it is connected to, and called back when the creature begins to shake them off. Retreat a fair distance away to allow the Silver Empress Bulblax to roll between either side of its arena without the risk of Pikmin getting crushed. If boulders fall during this part of the fight, be sure to watch for the shadows they cast and avoid them. When the Silver Empress Bulblax stops rolling, repeat the cycle as described. If the Silver Empress Bulblax is birthing Bulborb Larvae, have one leader distract and kill the little pests while the other leader battles the creature itself.

Notes

Olimar's observations

This beast of a Grub Dog is a clear sign that these modern bulborb varieties have much in common with the old ones. Like the others, this empress is somehow even more powerful than the already massive red Empress. The silver color and cyan spots and rather bizarre. Make sure you don't underestimate its rolling attack!

Cookin' with Louie

The rather metallic taste of this beast's meat may be off-putting to some, but definitely not all!
