The Aquatic Sheargrub is a legged mandiblard that skims along the surface of water. They may not move fast, but these insects have an appetite for Pikmin and wooden bridges, as well as other plant life that falls in the water. Defeating Aquatic Sheargrubs from the shore requires a Pikmin to be thrown directly on top of their backs to push them under the water's surface, where they will likely drown before they can save themselves. Because they are so similar to pond skaters, the Aquatic Sheargrub is like an ancient water predator that has changed very little over time compared to so many of the other creatures that inhabit the Pikmin Planet.
