Coastal Sheargrubs are tropical enemies residing in Creature's Quay in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. They are mustard-colored mandiblards with beige carapaces, red mouths, purple eyes, and numerous small yellow feet, making them one of the few mandiblards with limbs. They resemble the real-world mole crab. They are most common in, but not exclusive to, the jungle island's sandy beaches. They burrow out of the ground like other mandiblards and eat Pikmin like a Male Sheargrub. They move faster than most sheargrubs, about the speed of a Swarming Sheargrub. Their armor makes them stronger, having higher health and defense. They also tend to flee from leaders and Pikmin when their health is too low.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Mandiblards are no stranger to sand and tropics, but they can easily be washed away by waves and soon perish. Beach-dwelling sheargrubs eventually evolved legs to burrow into surf zone sand and help them climb up wet shores. The protective carapace keeps it safe from Pikmin attacks.”
Louie's notes
- “Decorating some futomaki matsuri but can't find the perfect color for your flower decoration's center? Break the shell, remove the eyes, and mince it. Perfect meat of beautiful color.”
