The Dead Ringer returns in Pikmin 2... Again?. It resembles its Pikmin: Dusk and Dawn incarnation but with only a single eye instead of many. It is exclusive to night expeditions. Dead Ringers can make a sound reminiscent of a police siren that will call enemies, even some that weren't included in the night expedition to begin with. Upon defeat, the Dead Ringer's body will shatter, leaving only a few glow pellets.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Dead Ringer / Alarmes pseudobobbronze / Bronzabell family. This species of bronzabell doesn't look like a bell at all, rather, it looks like a security alarm. Active only at night, they run towards the Luminknoll or its smaller variant, to... just get there. But don't underestimate them, as after a time, they'll emit a sound that causes any creature to come, even if they weren't there before, so it's better to defeat one before it does that.

Dead Ringers are small bronzabells in Pikmin: Dusk and Dawn that resemble small red security alarms containing numerous red eyes with white irises. They have 4 legs with 3 claws on the end of each foot, allowing them to scurry quickly. They have a chance to appear during raids and will sprint up to leaders and Pikmin and, after a brief moment, set off a loud, flashing alarm that alerts enemies in a medium-sized radius to their location. The only way to prevent this is to throw a Rock Pikmin or Statue Pikmin at them, shattering their casing, whereupon they will quickly escape back into the darkness. They can also be stunned by Glow Pikmin or any other Pikmin with stunning capabilities.

Despite not having a Crimson counterpart, Dead Ringers can appear during a Crimson Raid, where they sometimes become faster and activate their alarm sooner than usual.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Dead Ringer / Psuedobell reprehendendo securitatis / Bronzabell family(?). I am unsure if this mechanical creature is biologically related to the more recognizable bells, but what I do know is: that they're annoying.

Louie's notes

Inedible. Causes uncontrollable vocalizing.

Chacho's notes

Perhaps I could adopt one in case my wife tries nabbing my piggy bank again...

S.S. Twilight's notes

This partially-liquid species of bronzabell takes on more of a light form than a bell. It still retains its noise capacity, as it can produce extremely loud shrieks. These shrieks alert any nocturnal predators to the area, which will kill off the prey the Dead Ringer was trying to take out. The bronzabell will then eat the scraps, like most other bronzabell species. The bronzabell family is filled with scavengers.
