The Frost Bulborb appears in Pikmin 251 as the breadbug mimic of the Cyan Bulborb. It is a distant relative of the Snow Bulborb. Like most dwarf bulborbs, the Frost Bulborb can be found idly sniffing at the ground in search of prey. When a leader or Pikmin pass by, the creature will look up with a yip and begin following them a short distance before losing interest and resuming its hunting behavior.
Frost Bulborbs resemble typical dwarf bulborbs and have light skin, a light blue rump with white spots, white fangs and claws, a red mouth with a pink tongue, and vibrant blue eyes on a pair of eyestalks. Much like how Snow Bulborbs are compared to Hairy Bulborbs, Frost Bulborbs are completely hairless compared to Cyan Bulborbs.
Defeating a Frost Bulborb is usually a simple task. They can be swarmed, but throwing a Pikmin onto one's back will kill it instantly. In numbers, Frost Bulborbs can be more dangerous but should still be easy to kill.
Notes
Olimar's observations
- “These dwarf bulborbs are quite similar to the snow bulborb we saw during our last trip, but with a new color for their backs. Personally, I think the new color looks pretty nice on them, but it doesn't make them any less of an enemy we have to watch for.”
Cookin' with Louie
- “Sadly uncookable, as when the meat gets too hot it melts into a pile of goopy flesh.”
