Biology
The Pebbleback Blowhog is an earthy species of blowhog appearing in Pikmin Z. It has the symbolic blowhog head, but its brown torso is rounded and humped, with thick hair drooping down the sides and a few rocky plates on its back. Upon seeing Captain Alph or Pikmin, it will aim its trunk at them and unleash a barrage of pebbles in their direction. As Rock Pikmin are unaffected by the Pebbleback Blowhog's signature attack, they are useful against it, although it must be attacked from the front as its sides and back are protected by hair and plates.
This species of Blowhog is adapted to the cold. When seeing you, it will aim its truck at you, and spray your party with a barrage of rocks. These aren't harmful towards Rock Pikmin however.

When fighting a Pebbleback Blowhog, Rock Pikmin are highly recommended. You're unable to latch onto its back, so you can only hit it from the front, leaving you exposed to its attacks.

Piklopedia entry

This blowhog shows a rather uncanny look to the prehistoric Woolly Blowhog species due to the fur. When threatened, it is able to release a group of small stones, seemingly made out of similar materials to cannon beetle rocks. Despite appearances, this is actually a rather new species.
