Colored names

Hello, I've seen that in the recent changes you have a colored name. I thought this was because you were an admin, but I have admin now as well, and my name color is still the default. How do I change my name color? – A Friendly Amprat ^{(Talk | Contribs | Projects)}

I know how to, I'll answer to your question, saying what you have to do step by step. First, click at this white bar on the corner saying "Search Pikmin Fanon" with a magnifier icon on right, then, type "MediaWiki:Common.css", which it'll show up, click on this result, being send to Common.css, a MediaWiki namespace where you can do changes at, which will apply to every skin. What you'll first see is a gray box with code on it, and usually, what will come first into your sight is a "Colored username for staff members", and below you'll see many ".mw-userlink[title="Examplename"]", add one like theirs there, but putting your username between those two quotation marks ("). I recommend you to put it at the top, based it is in alphabetical order. And done, the "#whoadmin a { color: #1fc !important }" will make every username above pink, so now you having the administrator link color! –

Everyone can, not only the staff. Take me as a example, I welcome users if King Boo isn't around to do so. So I welcome them instead while he isn't around. In that case, I learned with his edits over time to how I am now. So now I welcome users, and now you are doing this too. But those users you welcome had no edit. King Boo once said that he didn't welcome users without any edit, which makes sense. If they made no edit, that (usually) means they will never respond, at least that's what usually happens. Like, most users that join here, they just do nothing. And this wiki also have few active editors that know how to edit right and stuffs that didn't just disappeared of the map, most or do something in the wrong format, or something else. But yeah, you can. Just remember to welcome those that had at least one edit, please. –

-Ahoy mateys, just wanted to let you all know, a few days in, that I'm currently taking a little break from editing on the Pikmin Fanon. I know I was active today, but that was because I wanted to take care of things that needed attention. I suppose that if it wasn't obvious already, I do take periodic breaks from this wiki, although that doesn't mean I don't keep an eye on this place. So if I disappear, that's probably what's happening. But fret not, I'm never gone for long. -::::Regarding canon vs. fanon, since this is a fanon wiki, it's implied that everything here is fanon unless stated otherwise, right? We have headers at the top of the pages that state when they're canon content, with links to Pikipedia. The "In fanon games" header is pretty redundant and messes up the table of contents, so that's why I've been changing them. My personal opinion is that we don't need to have the canon game notes for enemies at all since we don't cover the canon games on this wiki, but since it's not actively harmful, I sectioned them off with the label instead of deleting them.

What time the information was added to the wiki has no bearing on where or when the idea actually originated, and it's not fair that whoever gets around to writing it on the wiki first gets their game's version specially featured as the source of it, above the table of contents and with their game banner plainly visible at the top, when it isn't especially likely that it's true. In addition to the issue you mentioned about past edits (which is absolutely in the realm of possibility for our userbase, even if you haven't found hard evidence), this formatting would create another one for future ones: It would highly incentivize the wiki version of "first" comments, where someone makes articles for their stuff without adding anything of value to them just so they get the coveted spots at the top of the page.

Each game's section within an article is basically its own article, operated by the game's owner and capable of having its own subsections if need be (like Pikimon's movepools), and they're all simply placed on the same page since most are very similar and small so it prevents page bloat from repeated info. Even disregarding the first comment thing, the entry at the top (from Redemption) talks about how the Pink Wollywog is a unique species of Wollywog that doesn't attack but instead spawns other, more dangerous Wollywogs. I was left wondering if PikHacker really included that in the mod, and then I scroll down and see that 251's Pink Wollywog is ''nothing'' like that. The only common element between the two versions is that they're pink. Either one being at the top is very misleading for the other, and therefore neither should be at the top.

I'll also note that the two versions are in separate families, and it really doesn't mean much because they're just the two different ideas we came up with for taxonomy. Both families will only show up with the other enemies in that family in their respective games (just CC for V, but PF doesn't have CC and it does have a few others, so I think it's rather important to have them grouped outside of the Piklopedia page). I seriously don't understand what's confusing about it... whether an enemy behaves differently in two different games is a separate issue from this. By the time you're done that game alone will have probably increased the enemy pages count by a thirty-second! Also now I think it does the Main Page's article count have some sort of template that counts the content pages? -I think you broke the Infobox: Enemy template and now things are no longer in their assigned families. Most obviously, the Breadbug and Grub-dog families have well below a third of their total members. I'd guess about half or even more of our total enemy count has been removed from their families.
