The Crimson Skitter Leaf is an enemy in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The creature, at first appearance, resembles a large, red leaf. When revealed, it will show off its four smaller, red leaf legs, and its two yellow eyes at the end of its stem. The Crimson Skitter Leaf, compared to a regular Skitter Leaf, is slightly larger than usual.
Crimson Skitter Leaves will remain idle until any Pikmin approach them. They can also float down from the sky if their origin point is approached as well. Once they are active, they will skitter around frantically until the aggressor leaves. If attacked, the Crimson Skitter Leaf will release a massive, red gust of wind by spinning its body around. This gust of wind will suck up Pikmin and leaders in a spiral formation and throw them around, also causing the former to lose their flowers. This can be especially dangerous if the wind tosses any Pikmin into hazards like gas pipes, pools, or pits; they can also be tossed into the range of nearby ferocious enemies.
Defeating a Crimson Skitter Leaf is fairly easy. Simply throwing two Pikmin onto their body will result in an easy kill. Purple Pikmin and Weighted Pikmin, and Statue Pikmin that are frozen can't be picked up by the gusts of wind. These three specific Pikmin types can also kill the creature in one hit. A Dart Pikmin can also kill the Crimson Skitter Leaf in one hit, but the gust of wind may cause the Pikmin to go off trajectory and miss its target.
In Overlord mode, the Crimson Skitter Leaf can create much larger and more violent gusts of wind, which can stun Pikmin when they fall to the ground.

- “The Crimson Skitter Leaf utilizes its bigger stature and thin composition to rile up gusts of wind to blow away prey in self-defense. However, it really only works for Pikmin, as virtually any other predator weighs more than enough to not be affected at all by the wind. So camouflage is the next best thing for this creature. They seem to be mainly prominent during the autumnal season on this planet, and they tend to hide underground during the summer or winter.”
