The Silver Bulborb is a grub-dog appearing in Pikmin 251. It is a distant relative of the Red Bulborb. Unlike its dwarf counterpart, the Dwarf Silver Bulborb, the Silver Bulborb can be killed by swarming it with Pikmin. It sleeps until it is touched or harmed, making it wake up. It will return to its sleeping spot if it doesn't see prey, like leaders or Pikmin, to chase after.
The Silver Bulborb looks like a typical bulborb. It has light skin, a glossy gray rump with white spots, white fangs and claws, a red mouth with a pink tongue, and bright green eyes supported by a pair of eyestalks. Its backside is what gives the Silver Bulborb its name.
Silver Bulborbs aren't much more challenging than Red Bulborbs, but they move very slowly compared to them. They can turn quickly, however, usually too quickly for their own good. Because of this, Silver Bulborbs can often be taken out with little to no losses whatsoever. The optimal tactic for taking down a Silver Bulborb is to sneak up on it from behind and quickly throw Pikmin onto its backside until it dies.
Notes
Olimar's observations
- “This gray and white bulborb is one that I never saw last time. It seems stronger than bulborbs I've seen before. The color scheme is new, but it's still mostly just a variation of the Red Bulborb. Speaking of the Red Bulborb, it's normally one of the most common creatures on this whole planet. Yet, I haven't seen any on this trip. Something is a bit odd about the enemies I'm seeing this time...”
Cookin' with Louie
- “The meat of this creature is surprisingly dry, however, the thighs can be baked whole and served with a sauce of your choice for a one-man-feast!”

The Gray Bulborb in Pikmin: Shadows of the Future is no different than other large bulborbs but is much faster, posing a greater threat to slow Pikmin. It was named for the light gray coloration of its backside, meaning it can blend in with the rocky areas it lives in. Its dwarf counterpart is the Dwarf Gray Bulborb.
