Attacks Eats Pikmin

The Dwarf Silver Bulborb is a breadbug mimic appearing in Pikmin 251. It is the dwarf counterpart of the Silver Bulborb. The Dwarf Silver Bulborb is unique from other dwarf bulborbs in that it can only be killed through unconventional methods, as swarming is entirely ineffective yet still possible. Otherwise, they behave exactly like most other dwarfs, idly sniffing the ground in search of prey. When leaders or their Pikmin pass by, a Dwarf Silver Bulborb will look up with a yip and follow them a short distance before losing interest and resuming its normal hunting behavior.

Dwarf Silver Bulborbs resemble the typical dwarf bulborb. They are small, have light skin, a glossy gray back with white spots, white fangs and claws, a red mouth with a pink tongue, and bright green eyes supported by a pair of eyestalks. Needless to say, the creature's silver backside is what gives it its name.

The usual techniques that are employed for taking down a dwarf bulborb are different with this creature as it cannot be killed by being swarmed. Besides having a Pikmin thrown directly onto its back, a Dwarf Silver Bulborb can be killed by sources of heavy damage such a bomb rock explosion, getting it crushed, having it be hit by boulders, or luring it into a pit. Thankfully, they move very slowly. However, they can turn very quickly, but usually too quickly for their own good. In groups, battles against Dwarf Silver Bulborbs can be somewhat challenging, but well-aimed throws can result in a swift victory.

Notes

Olimar's observations

This variety of dwarf bulborb is unlike any other I've seen. Its thick skin can protect it from any grounded Pikmin attack! The only way to take them down is to throw a Pikmin directly onto its back. Even a massive swarm would only distract it. My guess is that since this variety of dwarf bulborb is so resistant to their main predator, natural selection will eventually take its course and these will become the dominant variety.

Cookin' with Louie

Unlike their larger doubles, these things are practically oozing with moisture, so much you should actually fillet them over a bowl to capture their juices. They make for a great butter alternative.

Ferrous Bulborbs are breadbug mimics appearing in Pikmin I. They are the fastest of all, only slightly slower than even a flowered White Pikmin. They have pale skin, a silver backside with black spots, and their eyes have a black iris with a small white dot in the middle. They love mercury pools.

Notes

Olimar's notes

These mimics manage to nail a Gray Bulborb's young's appearance, and are as fast as aforementioned gray bulborb young. They are very closely related to the Dwarf Black Bulborb, with identical lifestyles. They often eat sheargrubs for food and reside in mercury.

Louie's notes

These guys make for a perfect dinner on a friday night. Just get their dry flanks into pyramids and spice it up.
