The Rock-Headed Bulblax is a boss grub-dog appearing in Pikmin: Evolution Unleashed, specifically in the Giant Boss Arena and two of its dungeons. It resembles an Emperor Bulblax but is dark red and with rock coating its face. It uses that covering to protect itself from frontal assaults from Pikmin as it uses its slimy green tongue to petrify and capture prey, upon which it will immediately swallow them. It can also stomp to cause boulders to fall, also crushing any Pikmin under its foot at the time. The optimal way to attack it is to sneak up from behind, as it has no moss growing from its vulnerable backside.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This species of grub-dog is a unique type of enemy. It has a rocky covering that will shield or reduce damage from incoming attackers. Its huge cranium has made it enlarge in size, becoming a rival of a regular Emperor Bulblax, but surpassing it in size, strength, and girth. The lack of sun and rain has made it so that this creature can not grow moss on its back. It seems this bulblax has a small form as well as a huge one. Also, the fact that it sometimes nests near Emperor Bulblax territory is beyond me. Maybe it doesn't care about where it can sleep. Evolution is a strange and complicated process.”
Louie's notes
- “Cook up to 400 degrees to steamy perfection. After that, season with nice corn juice and place on a sesame seed bun. For a touch of enigmatic flavor, add lemon pepper for an unforgettable cheeseburger that will burn its way into your memory buds!”
