Family Grub-dog

The Sausageborb is a species of fatty, elongated grub-dog notable for its distinct brown coloration and tendency to eat Pikmin. It is inspired by the Pikmin 2 prerelease speculation conducted on a website known as Pikmin Onion!; specifically, "Sausageborb" was the community-given name for the Empress Bulblax due to its appearance and a picture depicting the creature almost as if it was going to eat the Pikmin in front of it.

The Sausageborb is a powerful boss grub-dog appearing in Pikmin: Distant Planet. It appears nearly identical to the Empress Bulblax, although with a dull brown body rather than one that is red, and the fundamental reason for this creature's immense girth is due to intense overeating, whereas the Empress Bulblax is stuffed full of Bulborb Larvae. The Sausageborb initially appears by tunneling out from the ground or from a wall. Afterward, it drags itself towards Pikmin to eat them, and can also shift its massive body to crush Pikmin under it, as well as use Empress Bulblax's signature rolling attack. In addition, starting after taking sufficient damage, the Sausageborb will periodically tunnel away and then appear somewhere else to ambush Pikmin. It can emerge from any surface, including an inexplicable drop from the ceiling, which should be avoided, by sidestepping the huge shadow, at all costs. To defeat this boss, Pikmin should be thrown either at the area directly around its head, or, even better, at the very end of the creature's body, although it is often not easily accessible.
