Pikmin: the final stretch is an idea for a Pikmin game. In this game you play as the 3 koppaites, and Olimar, who are trying to find materials for koppai. Olimar is not just helping them, he is also trying to find Louie. The adventure starts when the ship crashes into a flying master onion, which then separates the explores, and the onion itself. The onion orders go in red, winged, new white onion, new purple onion, a new type of Pikmin called spirit Pikmin, siren Pikmin, rock, and finally blue. The first captain you play as is Charlie, then Alph, the Brittany, and finally Olimar, although in the remade forest navel, Charlie is thrown off board by Brittany. Areas include: forest of pipes, distant canyon, spirit waters, ( remade distant spring) cave of the forest (remade forest navel) and finally, desert of sorrow. Plot begins here (Pikmin 3 spoilers ahead!) so after the koppaites get home, they are immediately sent back to pnf 404 to gather tree seeds and wood to get more materials. Olimar also joins them to help, and to find Louie. It is all normal into they arrive at the cave of the forest, because overnight Brittany quietly lands and throws Charlie off board. You play as Charlie until you get eaten by a massive wollywog, which is the boss of the area. But then once you free charlie and Brittany confesses, Charlie finds a data file in the beast which, happens to be, by Louie. The data file reads: Olimar… if you find this… I’m saying I’m sorry. I know I’ve been a brat, but it is not my fault… it’s that dumb wraith I tried to eat that has been possessing me this whole time… if you find this, remember that I’m at a different area of the oak I call the desert of sorrow. So then they head there. But the deal is the wraith has been kept in a prison in the waterwraith’s dimenion. But then as Louie approaches the tree of the onions… it just so happens to be that the wraith brought him into the other dimension, in its prison. So then you go through this cave, with lots of puzzles, and traps. Once you bring the inter dimensional key into the tree to try and free Louie, the plasm wraith also escapes and possesses the tree of the onions, which then starts the final battle. You use spirit Pikmin to scare it and stun it, and then use rock Pikmin to break its bark, and then attack. And also, at some point, there are waves of enemies, because it is always night during the battle, making this the only time you can go out at night. After you get the plasm wraith out of the tree, it then goes helpless, like the waterwraith, because it lost its power. After that Louie is saved, and he apologizes. Then Louie and Olimar are dropped off at hocatate, and the koppaites bring back the new materials.

Plot

After returning to their home planet of Koppai, Alph, Brittany, and Charlie are immediately sent back to PNF-404 to gather materials such as tree seeds and wood. The trio invites Olimar to help, and Olimar accepts because he wishes to search for Louie. After entering PNF-404's atmosphere, their ship collides with a Master Onion, separating the explorers as well each of the Onions making up the Master Onion. In order, the Onions are Red, Winged, White, Purple, Spirit, Siren, Rock, and lastly, Blue.

Bulborb Mode is downloadable content for Pikmin: The Final Stretch that sees a Red Bulborb seeking to avenge its Pikmin friends, the target being an Emperor Bulblax that tried to eat them. As a bulborb, it is possible to bite with A, shake off attackers with B, and sleep with Y. Until a playthrough of Bulborb Mode is completed, it is possible to see the bulborb in out-of-bounds locations in story mode.
