Gummed Dumples are semiaquatic grub-dogs appearing in Pikmin 251. They are a close relative of the Water Dumple, having the same general body shape and behavioral characteristics. Like Water Dumples, Gummed Dumples wait idly on land and in water, until a leader or Pikmin draw near, prompting them to give chase. A Gummed Dumple will quickly lose interest if its potential meal walks too far away, however, and return to its original spot afterward.
The Gummed Dumple has purple, scaly skin covered in dark green splotches. Its lips are pink, and its tail is the same color as its splotches.
Even though they are slightly stronger than normal Water Dumples, a Gummed Dumple can easily be taken down by swarming it with a decent number of Pikmin. Taking down a group of them without losses can be a challenge, however, but swarming a large number of Pikmin into a small group of Gummed Dumples is still effective. Throw additional Pikmin onto the Gummed Dumples with the least amount of Pikmin attacking them to kill them faster and ensure there are no Pikmin casualties.
Notes
Olimar's observations
- “The Gummed Dumple has a thicker layer of insulating skin versus regular Water Dumples. It is likely that they evolved to be more resistant to the Pikmin. With proper swarming tactics, they still aren't tough to take down, even if they are in groups.”
