The Emperor Breadbug is an optional mini-boss in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. It is a Breadbug mimic of an Emperor Bulblax. It also fights alongside the Empress Breadbug. The Emperor Breadbug attacks very much like an Emperor Bulblax, but looks far from the same. Instead of having a mossy back, the Emperor Breadbug is shaped similar to a large Giant Breadbug, but its head is between two hamburger buns. The buns are curved so they cover everything but its face. The Emperor Breadbug is found buried in the earth, with a majority of the top bun sticking out of the ground. Some players may confuse this for a mound. When the center of the top bun is stepped on, the Emperor Breadbug suddenly rises from the ground, and jumps out of it shortly afterward. The Emperor Breadbug will try to shake the extra weight off once it fully surfaces and will only return to its sleeping place if Captain Olimar and his Pikmin are either flung off or step off of it. To defeat the Emperor Breadbug, Captain Olimar must first weigh it down with Purple Pikmin. When it has too much weight on its back, the Emperor Breadbug will collapse. With its legs and bottom bun compressed, Olimar's Pikmin are able to attack the face of the Emperor Breadbug. It must be weighted down with thirty Purple Pikmin the first time, forty-five the second time, and sixty the third. Having to bring so many Purple Pikmin makes this a semi-challenging mini-boss. When defeated, the Emperor Breadbug will emit a loud roar that knocks Pikmin and Olimar back while flailing around in one spot. It shrinks down to half of its size for easy transportation. Captain Olimar cannot assist in carrying the corpse of the Emperor Breadbug due to it being considered a boss's corpse.
The Emperor Breadbug is a massive breadbug, larger than even the Giant Breadbug, appearing in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. It is what could be considered the breadbug counterpart of the grub-dog family's Emperor Bulblax, and fights alongside the Empress Breadbug in the Loaf Territory, where both breadbugs are fought at the same time. The Emperor Breadbug is initially partially buried in the earth, only a portion of the top of its blubber visible, easily mistakable as a simple mound. When it is stood on by Captain Olimar or Pikmin long enough, the creature and the ground around it will shake and tremble as it emerges from the ground, and jumps up to fully reveal itself. Afterward, Emperor Breadbug will attempt to shake off anything yet remaining on it. By this time, the Empress Breadbug will also begin its assault. The Emperor Breadbug will burrow into the ground if it and its mate are left alone for long enough.

The Emperor Breadbug resembles an extremely oversized Breadbug, its segmented blubber hamburger buns, and the white speckles on top of that sesame seeds. The blubber is curved so it covers all but the creature's head and legs.

Fortunately, the battle against the Emperor Breadbug, and in turn the Empress Breadbug, is optional. Although it does not eat Pikmin, the Emperor Breadbug can use its weight to crush many Pikmin, and Olimar, at once. Its only weakpoints are its face and legs, the former being the safest even if Pikmin must be thrown up to it, the latter being not only the most resilient to damage but also the most dangerous due to the Emperor Breadbug's tendency to collapse. Upon defeat, the Emperor Breadbug will emit a loud roar that knocks Pikmin and Olimar back, while flailing around in one spot. It shrinks down to half of its size for easy transportation.
