Fur Pikmin, originally named Mammoth Pikmin due to their fur being inspired by real-world woolly mammoths, are a new Pikmin species appearing in Pikmin 4. They are covered almost entirely in dense, brown, mammalian fur, granting them a resistance cold air, and their sharp claws allow them to dig through packed dirt, as well as webbing and fabric. Additionally, the claws of a Fur Pikmin are useful during combat as they inflict much damage and may expose an enemy, such as one covered partially or wholly in hair, an example being a Hairy Bulborb, to attack by other Pikmin. Fur Pikmin that are set on fire will lose their fur, revealing the entirety of their slim, beige body, the color of which not being reflected by pellets or their Onion, and temporarily negating their resistance to cold until they drink nectar or the next day comes. Crimson is the color of a Fur Pikmin's flower petals.

The Hairy Pikmin is a species of Pikmin in Pikmin: Spark. They are the seventh type discovered, coming after Winged Pikmin but before Yellow Pikmin. They have a teal body covered in thin tan hairs, including the feet, with a puff of cotton acting as the flower. The hair on their feet acts as barbs, allowing them to walk on ice without issue and walk up steep surfaces that other Pikmin can not, and granting immunity to being blown back by wind attacks, such as that of the Puffy Blowhog. However, their cottony flowers make them easier to deflower when shaken off, and they drown faster in water due to their hair weighing them down. They require a candypop bud to be propagated, but upgrading the ship allows creating the Hairy Onion.
