The Muddy Blowhog is a land-based blowhog appearing in Pikmin: Spider Attack, and is a close relative to the Fiery Blowhog and Watery Blowhog. It looks almost exactly like its relatives except for its brown-tipped trunk, from which it spews mud. Any Pikmin besides Brown Pikmin that are hit by this mud will begin to run around in panic. Pikmin affected by mud often trip, splattering mud onto nearby Pikmin and in turn, causing them to run around in panic as well.
Brown Pikmin are the ideal choice for taking down Muddy Blowhogs, as they are resistant to mud. Swarming the creature is the optimal method of taking it out, especially after it tries to buck Pikmin off. If swarming isn't possible or preferred, Pikmin can be thrown onto it to overwhelm it. Red Pikmin can also be used to take down a Muddy Blowhog because of their high attack damage.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This blowhog is a close relative to the fiery blowhog and watery blowhog. It is actually a watery blowhog, but its genes are very filthy and unhealthy, causing it to shoot mud and its snout to change color. Since the muddy blowhog is not very healthy, it must be an endangered subspecies.”
