That Bronzabell doesn’t look friendly... – The ship, upon discovering the Bruiser Bell

The Bruiser Bell is a miniboss in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. Like most species of Bronzabell, it resembles a large bell. The Bruiser Bell has an orange coloration, as it is made out of a coppery metal. A large eye with a white sclera and red pupil is placed on the front of the bell. The clapper of the Bruiser Bell is particularly large, being the main limb the creature uses for attacking.

The Bruiser Bell will remain idle, staying in place due to its massive weight. Once approached, it will lift its clapper into the air and slam it down directly onto the target of choice. This attack can kill up to twenty Pikmin and can bury and wither those that are immune to blunt force. Another attack of the Bruiser Bell is slamming its clapper on the ground and dragging it around violently around its body, like the Miniature Snootwhacker does with its trunk. This particular attack isn’t lethal but can easily deflower any Pikmin caught in it. Due to the hard shell of the Bruiser Bell, it’s invulnerable to all direct attacks from any Pikmin.

The only way to defeat the Bruiser Bell is to wait for the beast to slam its clapper onto the ground. Once it does, it will rest the clapper for seven seconds. This provides a chance to send their Pikmin at the clapper. Once up to twenty Pikmin pull on the clapper, they will pull it far and throw it right at the Bronzabell, depleting a quarter of its total health. The more health the Bruiser Bell loses, the more cracks that form on the boss until it inevitably cracks apart upon death, dropping any treasure. Defeating a Bruiser Bell for the first time will grant the "Copped Copper" achievement.

In Overlord mode, it takes up to fifty Pikmin to pull the massive clapper, and the Bruiser Bell can release small chunks of mud from its attack which may choke Pikmin on contact.

Notes

  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #1: The Bruiser Bell is immune to direct assault. Try and find another way to hurt it.
  • P3 Data file icon.png Data file #2: Try to grab the clapper of the Bruiser Bell after it slams it on the ground.

Olimar's notes

This species of Bronzabell is a major apex predator in its ecosystem. They use their giant clapper to take out prey and jump over their carcasses to digest their bodies through internal heat. The copper that encases the Bronzabell is actually not the main body of the creature. The Bruiser Bell is actually made out of some form of lead compound. The copper seems to be some form of paint-like substance.

Louie's notes

The bell part is inedible. No side effects, it’s just that you really can't eat lead. The eye can be eaten raw, though.

President’s notes

What’s this? Copper? Isn't that worth a thousand Pokos on Hocotate?! DID I JUST STRIKE GOLD?! Nevermind... it's lead...

Overlord’s thoughts

Another Bronzabell. It’s weird to think that these animals have been around for thousands of years, even during the years of the ancient race. It seems when they first made the bell, the Bronzabell’s followed shortly after. I wonder how they came to be...

Attacks Crushes Pikmin

The Bruiser Bell is a brutish bronzabell in Pikmin: Dusk and Dawn. Their bodies are large, rustic, bronze bells, with a singular eye that has a shaken, red pupil. Unlike its relatives, the Bruiser Bell doesn't float in place; it slowly moves toward Pikmin and leaders. When close enough, they attack by leaning back and then flinging their oversized clapper to the ground, instantly crushing anything under it. In Hard Mode, or New Game+, they have a secondary attack in which they swing their wrecking ball sized clapper, much like a Mammoth Snootwhacker. Due to their massive, resilient bodies, they are not as easy to dispatch, having nearly the same health as a Red Bulborb. Due to this, they are best dealt with by throwing Pikmin at them, calling them off as they charge up an attack, and running away before they strike the ground. When killed, their bodies dissolve into bronze; they die similarly to a Bulborb Larva, having no recoverable remains.

Bruiser Bells are only summoned by the Doomsglade Clock, a night-dweller that can alert almost an entire area's-worth of wildlife. During its boss fight, it will summon a maximum of 2 Bruiser Bells at a time, in order to prolong the conflict and attempt to whittle down Pikmin numbers. In Hard Mode, or New Game+, a maximum of 4 Bruiser Bells can be summoned.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Bruiser Bell / Iratus bellator bobbronze / Bronzabell family. These brutish bells slam their antenna-like clapper to the ground, crushing anything in its wake. I get behind it and swarm its back if I want to have a chance at surviving this ambush.

Louie's notes

Inedible. Causes tooth aching and a bad temper.

Chacho's notes

Hm... Paperweight? Then again, I don't think I would like my tax papers to be obliterated...

S.S. Twilight's notes

This species of bronzabell is made of a harder metal than other members of its species. It's also much larger in comparison. The abnormally large sphere attached to the creature is used to take out larger insects and small animals to eat. Just like the Bellions, the Bruiser Bell is also a helper of the Doomsglade Clock, although they appear less in number. They serve more as a guard for the large beast.
