The room is set up like a rectangle. Upon landing, Rhea notes how much condensation is everywhere. Water has condensed into puddles and a new hazard of water drops will fall from the ceiling. They are weaker than normal threats but water drops will be constant. The starting area is always safe but the rest of the room is in danger of getting hit by them. The room is dark so it cannot be seen in its entirety when first landed in. Keep looking around until you find the Wayward Moon Upon getting close enough, the puddle will turn into a Goolix which the player must kill for the treasure. Kill it, return the treasure to the starting area for 200 [[Poko]]s, and hop to the next floor.

The room is a massive square grid with two levels and one extra square on the West, North, and South end for the entrance, Dusk Pustules, and exit respectively. Rhea notes the floor is cold and wet, meaning the floor will be extra slippery. When heading forward out into the square grid, the player will start slipping and will not be able to stop until they run into the block wall directly ahead. The screen will change the POV to looking down from far above, and the room will be revealed as a sliding ice block puzzle. The edges of the sliding grid lead to the lower floor, where the player will have to kill four Arctic Cannon Larva and eight Iceblown Dweevils each time to reopen a gate that returns up to the entrance. Start maneuvering around the grid, until the end of the puzzle. Between two blocks and out to the side a button will be present. It cannot be reached however because the player can only go in one direction. Solving the grid correctly shows that the player only needs to walk east into a raised gate, and then north to the Dusk Pustule square. However, while sliding to the gate, the squadron will pass a Chillyhop boxed in by ice next to the gate button. As it hops to try to crush your Pikmin, it will leap onto the off switch, lowering the gate and having the player slide endlessly off into the lower floor. However, unlike sliding anywhere else, the player will slide onto a ledge between the higher and lower floors. This will have 20 Wild Ice Pikmin. Take them and kill everything on the lower floor. This floor is not covered in ice so slipping. Hop back to the entrance and try the grid again, returning to where the button was. An interesting feature you'll notice is that the Ice Pikmin walk normally here, and will not slip around. When sliding back and forth between the button, command the Ice Pikmin to press the button and raise the gate again. Go to the gate and the Chillyhop will leap off the Off Switch and back to the original square you were standing on, so you won't have to worry about it lowering the gate again. Go North to the Dusk Pustules and have the Ice Pikmin carry it back to the start for 200 Pokos. Then, slide South from where the Dusk Pustules were to the exit, and head to the next floor.

This is a well earned rest sublevel after the chaos of the previous one. The Sweet Stumble-Not is in one of the Doodlebugs, so make sure to hit them both until you find it! Additionally, if the player has under 15 Ice Pikmin, enough Ice Candypop Buds will be present here to get your Ice Pikmin count between 15 and 19. Nectar up your Pikmin, take the Sweet Stumble-Not to your base for 60 Pokos, and get ready for the final floor!

This floor is a replica of the final floor of the Frozen Inferno, down to the boss, the Snowfake Fluttertail. It is recommended to use your Red Pikmin so they can use the Fiery Pinecones. Kill the Fluttertail for Flarlic, and the max Pikmin that can be on the map rises to 110! After that, tear a wall down to the escape geyser and the cave is complete!

The Ice Box is the third cave in the Lover's Garden and the fourth cave overall in Pikmin 5: Apex Predator. The cave's entrance is located under two massive cooler handles and the water surrounding the entrance is completely frozen. The Ice Onion is frozen to the ground a short distance away, but the Ice Pikmin necessary to free it are in the cave, so it is required to explore. The treasures here are worth a total of P2 Poko icon.png × 660.

When the cave is first approached, a brief cutscene begins. Rhea tells the player they should understand what to do, given the repeating theme of collecting wild Pikmin to free their Onion.

Sublevel 1

The room is set up like a rectangle. Upon landing, Rhea notes how much condensation is everywhere. The water has condensed into puddles, and water droplets constantly fall from the ceiling, posing an additional threat. The starting area is always safe but the rest of the chamber is not. The room is dark as well, so it cannot initially be seen in its entirety. Upon finding the Wayward Moon and getting close enough to it, the puddle it was resting on will reveal itself to be a Goolix, which must be killed for the treasure. Afterward, return the treasure to the starting area for 200 Pokos, and hop to the next floor.

Sublevel 2

The room is a massive square grid with two levels and one extra square on the west, north, and south end for the entrance, Dusk Pustules, and exit respectively. Rhea notes the floor is cold and wet, meaning the ground will be extra slippery. When heading forward out into the square grid, the player will start slipping and will not be able to stop until they run into the block wall directly ahead. The point of view will change to be above the sublevel, to looking down from far above, and the room will be revealed as a sliding ice block puzzle. The edges of the sliding grid lead to the lower floor, where the player will have to kill four Arctic Cannon Larvae and eight Iceblown Dweevils each time to reopen a gate that returns up to the entrance. Start maneuvering around the grid, until the end of the puzzle. Between two blocks and out to the side a button will be present. It cannot be reached, however, because the player can only go in one direction. Solving the grid correctly shows that the player only needs to walk east into a raised gate, and then north to the Dusk Pustule square. However, while sliding to the gate, the squadron will pass a Chillyhop boxed in by ice next to the gate button. As it hops to try to crush the passing Pikmin, it will leap onto the off switch, lowering the gate and having the player slide endlessly off into the lower floor. However, unlike sliding anywhere else, the player will slide onto a ledge between the higher and lower floors. This will have 20 Wild Ice Pikmin. Take them and kill everything on the lower floor, which is not covered in ice. Hop back to the entrance and try the grid again, returning to where the button was. An interesting feature is that the Ice Pikmin walk normally here, and will not slip around. When sliding back and forth between the button, command the Ice Pikmin to press the button and raise the gate again. Go to the gate and the Chillyhop will leap off the off switch and back to the original square the player was standing on, so there is no need to worry about it lowering the gate again. Go north to the Dusk Pustules and have the Ice Pikmin carry it back to the start for 200 Pokos. Then, slide south from where the Dusk Pustules were to the exit, and head to the next floor.

Sublevel 3

This floor is randomly generated as an enemy fight sublevel. The Crimson Banquet is in one of the two Arctic Cannon Beetles. Find the treasure for 200 Pokos and hop to the next sublevel.

Sublevel 4

This is a well-earned rest sublevel after the chaos of the previous one. The Sweet Stumble-Not is in one of the Doodlebugs, so make sure to hit them both. Additionally, if there are below 15 Ice Pikmin present, there will be enough Ice Candypop Buds to get their population between 15 and 19. Nectar up as many Pikmin as possible, take the Sweet Stumble-Not to the landing site for 60 Pokos, and prepare for the final floor.

Sublevel 5

This floor is a replica of the final floor of the Frozen Inferno, down to the boss, the Snowfake Fluttertail. It is recommended to use Red Pikmin so they can use the Fiery Pinecones. Kill the Fluttertail for a Flarlic, and the maximum Pikmin that can be present on the field rises to 110. After that, tear a wall down to the escape geyser and the cave is complete.
