In Pikmin: Clouded Skies, the Subterranean Wogpole is a young amphituber that has little to no contact with sunlight and thus has adapted accordingly by sporting pale flesh, red eyes, and glands that produce a soft glow. This glow wards off predators by serving as a sign that an adult Wollywog may be nearby. Other than the chance of appearance and structure, the Subterranean Wogpole is no different than its surface-dwelling relative, the Wogpole.

The Subterranean Wogpole is an amphituber appearing in Pikmin: Sinister Incinerator as the pale-skinned, red-eyed spawn of Wollywogs. They are no different from the surface-dwelling Wogpoles apart from their coloration and blue glow, making for a truly mystical and alien world while exploring underground. Their glow also may serve as a warning that Wollywogs lurk nearby, hidden out of sight.
