Blooming Sliturnip is a serpentunia and the first final boss of Pikmin 2... Again?, encountered on the final sublevel of the Nightmare Den and again in the Final Challenge. It appears to be a mix between a rose-like flower and a snake, its head resembling a red flower bud with five petals having sharp teeth, and its green stem being long like the body of a serpent. It hangs limply from the ceiling by its stem, but when Pikmin and leaders approach, the Blooming Sliturnip's head will open and the creature itself will drop from the ceiling. It will then proceed to slither along the ground, walls, and even the ceiling, similar to the Armored Mawdad, and charge toward any Pikmin and leaders it may see. Any Pikmin caught will be eaten, but leaders will only be spat out and damaged. To attack from a distance, or after shaking attacking Pikmin off of itself, the Blooming Sliturnip will stop moving, and from there, spit out large acid balls, instantly killing Pikmin they touch with no chance of saving them. Once enough damage has been done to the Blooming Sliturnip, its tail will almost completely split into four limbs, two acting as legs with the other two acting as arms. In this new form, the Blooming Sliturnip will walk about, spewing acid balls in an arc at random, and occasionally spitting up a giant acid ball that rolls in a straight line, shrinking as it travels along the ground, eventually disappearing, and leaving a trail of acid in its wake. The acid trail is not instantly lethal to Pikmin, but it will kill them if they are not whistled before they perish. It can also extend its limbs a far distance to more quickly reach distant Pikmin and leaders, during which thorns protrude from its limbs, impaling any that touch them before they are eaten by the creature. Lastly, it can spew a pink gas like that of the Quaggled Mireclops that panics all Pikmin exposed to it. Its head is too high up for most thrown Pikmin except Yellow Pikmin and especially Winged Pikmin to reach easily. Once defeated, it will spit out the 20-Sided Gem before withering and shrinking and disappearing.

While it the final boss' theme plays during the fight against it in the Nightmare Den, the normal boss music plays when it is fought in the Final Challenge, due to the Supreme Dweevil being the true final boss. Additionally, the Blooming Sliturnip's corpse can be salvaged after its defeat this time.

The Blooming Sliturnip's role as the final boss, at least seemingly so, is based on that of the Berserk Leech Hydroe.

The "turnip" from the Blooming Sliturnip's name was an accident in which its creator confused "turnip" as "tulip". However, even after they realized this, they decided to keep the name.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Blooming Sliturnip / Serpentunia family / Serpenflora domini. This creature is pretty beautiful, but it has its thorns. It is a predator of surprise, hanging from the ceiling like a... Well, a giant rose. When prey gets close, it drops from there. Not only can it charge Pikmin to eat them, but it can also spit out large balls of acid after being attacked.

Hocotate Ship's notes

Good thing Olimar cleaned the object this snake-flower spit out. I wouldn't like to have stored something covered in its acidic saliva.
