In Pikmin: Redemption, Poisonous Burrow-nits are advantageous enemies to have around because they can defeat other enemies. They behave exactly the same as Cloaking Burrow-nits. Poisonous Burrow-nit shells have only one large red circle on them. They can eat only one Pikmin at a time but can spear an enemy instead, in which case the enemy will suffer steady poison damage for a short time unless it also utilizes poison and thus suffers no harm except that from the proboscis.

The Poisonous Burrow-nit, in Pikmin: Sinister Incinerator, bears a resemblance to the Cloaking Burrow-nit but is blue with red eyes and has a purple shell with a pair of blue swirl markings. It behaves exactly like a Cloaking Burrow-nit except that it is eternally enveloped in an cloud of poison that disperses only after the creature is defeated, meaning only White Pikmin may be used to defeat it. The cause of the poison is the creature rapidly exhaling; Poisonous Burrow-nits have pores on their back that constantly intake the planet's oxygen and release it as poisonous gas.
