The Hurricane Blowhog is a species of giant airborne blowhog appearing in Pikmin Evolution as a boss. It is mint green with jet-black stripes, three pairs of arms, cyan-colored eyes, and a notably spherical body in line with the Withering Blowhog rather than the more elongated Puffy Blowhog. The Hurricane Blowhog dwells out of view, with the only indication of its presence being a sudden increase in strong winds that increase in intensity the closer it is before it scatters Pikmin and leaders with a powerful tornado.

The battle with the Hurricane Blowhog is challenging, as for most of the fight, it is surrounded by a giant tornado that acts as a shield. Any Pikmin tossed into the tornado surrounding the Hurricane Blowhog's body will be tossed back a great distance, often into an abyss if one is nearby. While the tornado shields the Hurricane Blowhog, it is free to use its six flippers to conjure smaller tornadoes which it tosses along the ground. These smaller tornadoes will kick up any nearby dirt and sand, changing the battlefield and making it overall more difficult to navigate.

To penetrate its tornado shield, the Hurricane Blowhog must be coaxed into moving over an object that will inevitably be sucked up by the tornado and hit it in the head, stunning it. They can be rocks buried in the ground, a piece of refuse, or even a syrup. Blue and yellow syrups are the best types to use against the Hurricane Blowhog as the water made by the blue syrup will interrupt the tornado shield the fastest, while the electric yellow syrup will cause the most damage to the Blowhog. Regardless, while grounded and stunned, the Hurricane Blowhog will conjure a sandstorm by flailing its arms, scattering small rocks in an attempt to crush Pikmin. However, it is defenseless up close, making proximity critical when it lands. Alloy Pikmin are the best types to use against the Hurricane Blowhog as they are both immune to getting crushed by the rocks it flicks around when grounded and deal increased damage to the Blowhog with their seismic stomps. When killed, the Hurricane Blowhog deflates into a surprisingly small corpse, and while it doesn't drop a piece of refuse like most other bosses, the wind it makes upon death reveals several pieces of smaller refuse from the soft ground.

Notes

Ivy’s journal

This blowhog species is a very rare one. This animal seems to possess the ability to manipulate the currents of winds around it at will, using it to take out its prey or predators. The blowhog probably evolved numerous pairs of arms to withstand creating these powerful wind currents. Despite all this, the blowhog mainly inhales most of its prey, consisting of small, flying insects.

Leni's recipe book

Unfortunately, most of the meat on this weird-looking animal is very rubbery and unable to be consumed. The arms, however, can be seared and seasoned for a hearty snack.

Marvin's strategy guide

This blowhog beast thinks it’s hot stuff tossing us around with tornadoes. Well, not even the smartest conjuring minds can withstand the power of rocks! Even a mighty tornado is as inferior as a Sheargrub against us!
