The Quaglet is a DLC enemy appearing in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. The small creature resembles a Quaggled Mireclops, as it is a very young version of it, though is not very large, being around the size of a Withering Blowhog. The Quaglet also does not have any grass, plants, or large fruit-like head on the top of its body, only a large crystal. If approached while sitting in the dirt, disguised, it will pop up and begin to pursue the nearby Pikmin and leaders. If it gets over them, it will drop down on them, crushing around 3-5 Pikmin in a single execution. It can be damaged effectively by attacking its legs, as targeting its main body barely does any damage. However, taking out the crystal will deplete over half of its health. Due to this, Rock Pikmin are best for fighting this creature. Dart Pikmin can also damage the crystal, though they are ineffective at doing so. If its legs are attacked enough, it may fall down for a few seconds, becoming stunned. When killed, the creature's dirt body disintegrates, revealing its true form: a small, red bud. This is the juvenile form of the plant found on the top of the Quaggled Mireclops.

The Quaglet is a small, three-legged creature in Pikmin: Dusk and Dawn that is made of dirt and has crystals on the top of its body. It closely resembles the Quaggled Mireclops, although without a fruit-like head or any eyestalks. When dormant, only its crystals are visible, sticking out of the mud. When alerted, it gets up and begins going after Pikmin. Due to its small size, around the size of Olimar, it can only crush around three to five Pikmin with its body at once. One way to defeat this creature quickly would be to attack its crystals with Rock Pikmin, as, if all of them are destroyed, it instantly dies. Moreover, its crystals can be attacked and destroyed even before the creature can rise to its feet. If Rock Pikmin are unavailable, its feet can be attacked, dealing damage albeit less than destroying its crystals.
If its crystals are destroyed, it has a higher chance of dropping Solium shards or Luminum shards depending on the time of day. In the Luminescent Caverns, destroying them only grants Luminum shards. On a related note, if the Quaglets in the Luminescent Caverns enter the light creeping through the cave ceiling, their crystals will cast a prismatic glow, much like if they were exposed to Twilight Pikmin, but to a greater degree.
Notes
Olimar's notes
- “Quaglet / Trestripods dwarfhenum / Mireclops family. Interestingly, this appears to be the descendant of the creature that Louie had told me about back when we met those Koppaites. Use Rock Pikmin to deal tremendous damage to this creature.”
Louie's notes
- “Inedible, tastes like dirt. Also, I'm not eating crystal.”
Chacho's notes
- “I could harvest their crystals to make rings or necklaces, certainly, this creature will earn me a pretty Poko...”
S.S. Twilight's notes
- “The large, bulbous red head of a Quaggled Mireclops is now discovered to be in fact a part of its body. However, such a head is instilled inside of its main body during its juvenile years, with the crystals being developed for extra protective measures. The Quaglet tends to stay in the ground to absorb nutrients and help further develop its head. As it keeps growing, it must sap up more nutrients from the environment around it. So, once it grows large enough; it will end up moving to a more fertile area, preferably muddy, where it ends up growing into a mature Quaggled Mireclops. If the Quaglet manages to kill any small insects, it will sap up and dissolve them into its body for growth.
- Scientific classification: Trestripods dwarfhenum
- Family: Mireclops
- Lifespan: Juvenilehood lasts for 3 years, 15 year lifespan
- Habitat: Large, open areas with a rich environment, moves to muddy areas in adulthood
- Diet: Nutrients and minerals in the soil, small insects”
