Albino Masterhop

From Pikmin Fanon
It has been suggested that this page should be moved to Could be just named "Masterhop", akin to the "Wollyhop" compared to the "Yellow Wollyhop". Just remember to place a notice at the top of the page like with the Decorated Cannon Beetle and its larva..

The Albino Masterhop, also known as the Albino Master Wollywog or Albino Master Wollyhop, is a species of giant amphituber appearing in Pikmin Evolution, being a giant version of the Albino Wollywog. This amphituber is a more aggressive and dangerous relative of the Yellow Masterhop, having a comparatively larger health pool with a 50% health increase, and resilient skin resistant to acid, poison, and even explosions. The Albino Masterhop lives in very deep dens, with one in particular making its home in the Titan's Dream. Since they're so aggressive, they have made other animals flee from them, except for smaller Albino Wollywogs.

As for attacks, the Albino Masterhop will primarily jump and try to crush Pikmin under its large frame, creating depressions in the ground that are filled with deadly acid rather than water. It can perform two types of jumps: a standard jump similar to the Masterhop's, and a larger but slower jump that causes earthquakes resulting in stalactites falling from above. If not destroyed soon enough, these stalactites will land in the ground, creating a large depression in the process, and be corroded by the acid until nothing remains except the depression it left behind. The Albino Masterhop can also use a powerful croak: a higher-pitched croak that makes Pikmin flee in panic, possibly into the way of a jump or into acid, and a lower-pitched croak that summons a trio of Albino Wollywogs to assist the Masterhop. The creature will only use its lower-pitched croak twice; once when it reaches half-health, and again at quarter-health. Lastly, the Albino Masterhop is capable of performing a slide attack at half-health, which leaves behind an acid-filled ditch but can not crush Pikmin like its jumps.

Due to all the acid involved, Germ Pikmin are imperative to bring and use against the Albino Masterhop. They can even lure the Albino Masterhop back into an acid puddle, where the muddy ground causes the Masterhop to get stuck, also removing the acid there and consequently becoming vulnerable to all Pikmin types until it can free itself. Overall, aside from this one rather effective strategy, the Albino Masterhop is a very dangerous creature that must be fought brawn against brawn for even a chance at victory.

Notes

Ivy's journal

The concept of Masterhops has always perplexed me. Why trade the ability to breed just for more bulk? In the case of the Albino Masterhop, there is some legitimate reason for an amphituber to go through such a process; high-saline environments seem to be more hostile than those of normal salinity, though with the tradeoff of those that survive being quite hardy. The Albino Wollywog on average has a higher maximum lifespan but higher death rate than the more common Yellow Wollywog, so the phenomenon of some individuals becoming bigger and stronger makes more sense for the former species than the latter.

Leni's recipe book

Unlike the inedibly salty Albino Wollywog, the Albino Masterhop's larger mass made the salt more evenly spread. Fry the loins on a grill for a good hour or two for some delicious steaks. You don't even need spices as the salt spices the meat for you.

Marvin's strategy guide

It seems that while this "Masterhop" is well adjusted to living in its home environment, its advanced age and size have made it less optimized than its smaller brethren. For one, I notice that the sheer weight of the creature doesn't account for the softness of the mud it lives in.
