Desert Oasis is the first area in Pikmin: Sinister Incinerator. It's a desolate little gulch in the middle of a hot desert. You start at the southernmost point of the map in a dead-end at the end of a chasm. After you find Purple Pikmin, they can weigh down the pressure barrier blocking the way forwards.
