The Fen of Frights is the second postgame area in Pikmin X: Deep Freeze. This eerie forest is notable for being the sole area in the game that is visited at night; during the day it is shrouded in a thick fog that would make exploration nearly impossible. Thus, the "day" in the Fen of Frights begins at dusk as the fog begins to clear, and runs into the dark, dangerous night where nocturnal creatures run wild. The ship is able to provide drones that produce artificial lighting above the leaders' current positions, but can only maintain them for about the length of a normal day. The scenery is characterized by toadstools, mossy mudflats, and tiny, firefly-like lights fluttering around, while huge pumpkins, some of them carved, lingering fog, and massive bones of unknown creatures embedded in the mud overall make the area look like a Halloween party. A river also runs through the Fen of Frights, with lily pads that can be ridden to access other parts of the area. Other vegetation present in the area includes, but is not limited to conifers, trees with orange leaves, or no leaves.
