Stump Grotto is the fifteenth or sixteenth cave in Pikmin: The War of the Pikmin Planet. Its entrance is located in the roots of an old tree at Waterfall Lake.

Sublevel 1

There are a few puddles of water here, one of which is inhabited by a Toady Bloyster. Defeat it to obtain the key.

Sublevel 2

This sublevel is covered almost entirely by water. A few large tree stumps serve as dry land. One of the three Blue Bulborbs has the key to the next sublevel.

Sublevel 3

This small sublevel is very dark and easy to get caught off-guard in. To obtain the key and unlock the next sublevel, defeat the Goolarva.

Sublevel 4

This sublevel is dimly lit by Common Glowcaps. In the center of the sublevel is a Puffstool, which may look harmless but can convert Pikmin into Mushroom Pikmin using spores. The overgrown fungus holds the key.

Sublevel 5

An old foe, the Burrowing Snagret, lurks somewhere on this sublevel. New enemies, Sheartwigs, can also be found here. Sheartwigs have more health than Shearwigs but are slower.

Sublevel 6

Many orange menaces are located in this sublevel, and they can decimate an oblivious leader's Pikmin squad. Watch out for any bomb rocks that fall from above.

Sublevel 7

To prepare for the next sublevel, two Queen Candypop Buds are available to use.

Sublevel 8

This sublevel is inhabited solely by one of the most difficult bosses encountered: a Pileated Snagret. Fortunately, there are a few bomb rocks to use against the beast and reduce the time spent in its range. Upon its death, the Pileated Snagret spits up half of a valve that, when combined with the other half found in Maroon Maze, grants access to Rusty Pipeworks.
