The Grounded Grumpstumper is a boss appearing in Pikmin 44. It is found in the Arduous Bluff, and then once again on sublevel 10 of the final cave. Its body resembles a long snake-like figure with a soft slug-like texture. It resides inside a large shell covered in dirt, stones, and plant overgrowth and will occasionally crush Pikmin with the aforementioned shell. Eventually, it will extend its long body out of its shell and chase Pikmin and leaders across the arena, attempting to eat them with its long extendable tongue in the process. During this phase, its two large orange eyes will turn red, only turning back to orange when eventually, the Grounded Grumpstumper can't extend any further, causing it to stun itself, providing a chance to run back to its shell and damage it with Pikmin. After a few times repeating this process, its shell will have taken enough damage to break, revealing a large weak spot at the end of its body. It will be unable to crush Pikmin in this state but will still try to grab them with its tongue and eat them. Once enough damage is dealt to the bulbous torso of the beast, it will perish and coil onto itself.
