Pikmin 44/Night Expedition
This article or section pertains to Pikmin 44, a fanon game created by PurpleHeadache. |

Night Expeditions in Pikmin 44 are supplemental missions integrated into the main storyline. They become accessible after the initial visit to Twisting Treetops, prompted by Collin's acknowledgment of dwindling breathable air supplies. The completion of a night expedition yields valuable glow sap, with each vial extending the crew's survival time on the alien planet by three days. If the glow sap reserves are exhausted, a final chance to undertake a night expedition and replenish their supply will be presented. Failing this opportunity will result in the game's conclusion, permitting a restart from an earlier point.
These Night Expeditions closely resemble their counterparts in Pikmin 4, requiring safeguarding a Lumiknoll while enlisting the assistance of Glow Pikmin to secure the glow sap produced at night's end. However, this time, the purpose of this glow sap differs significantly; it isn't used for curing leaflings but instead prolongs the time the leaders can endure on PNF-404.
Certain Night Expeditions incorporate additional objectives beyond glow sap collection. These missions entail rescuing wild Pikmin without an Onion to call home. Pikmin saved during these missions are added to the overall Pikmin count at the end of the day.
In Night Expeditions, glow pellets for cultivating Glow Pikmin are scarcer, but Glow Pikmin can be accumulated and retained, which carry over into subsequent night expeditions.
