The Proximity Blister is an enemy that is permanently affixed to the ground. When approached by leaders or Pikmin, it releases a flammable poisonous gas and surrounds itself with a cloud of it. After a few seconds, it creates a spark that immediately ignites the gas, creating a powerful explosion that kills nearby Pikmin.
