Appearance in Pikmin 4.

Sticky mold is an obstacle that appears as circular patches of yellow, veiny mold on the ground, typically in swampy or marshy locations, that slow Pikmin and leaders that tread through it. Sticky mold also prevents objects from being carried, by adhering them to the ground. Every patch of sticky mold is populated by several Spotcaps, with some patches having poisonous ones instead. Destroying every mushroom on a patch of sticky mold will make it disappear. The Toxstool is notable for being able to regenerate any destroyed mushrooms, replacing them with poisonous ones, on patches of sticky mold by using its spores.

Sticky mold in Pikmin V is mostly the same, but it doesn't block pathing by Pikmin or leaders. It only appears in three caves, those being Knothole Sanctum, Bog Network, and Secret Shelter. The former only has Spotcaps, but the other two have both kinds, with the poisonous variant officially being named Toxcaps.
