The Ivory Candypop Bud is a white-petaled candypop bud that behaves just like any other candypop bud but changes Pikmin thrown into them into White Pikmin. White Pikmin that are thrown in are reverted to the leaf stage and don't count against the five-Pikmin limit per candypop bud.

Notes

Olimar's observations

The Ivory Candypop bud allows other Pikmin type to become the quick and poison-immune White Pikmin. We found the first of these at a cave deep in the Wistful Wild. Now we have three Pikmin types at our disposal, but we still haven't found Blue or Purple Pikmin.

This elusive flower spoils within seconds of picking, making it unsuitable for cooking.

Pikmin produced 10 White Pikmin

In Pikmin V, Ivory Candypop Buds return with a few changes made to all Candypop Buds: they can convert 10 Pikmin before wilting, and White Pikmin thrown into the flower will not be reverted to the leaf stage. Candypop Buds are also revealed to be a stage of Pikmin evolution that occurs immediately before the Onion.

Notes

Brittany's notes

It's quite spectacular to think that our greatest (...and only) allies are still one of our greatest mysteries. The entire family exhibits rapid decomposition upon death, so we are unable to study their biological properties. Well, we COULD if we somehow brought back live specimens, but the Onions don't like that idea. They're too cute to abduct, anyway.

Olimar's notes

This flower transforms any type of Pikmin thrown into it into White Pikmin. Ivory Candypop Buds are an excellent choice for end-of-the-day scrambles for treasure, as long as you've cleared out the enemies already. However, they're quite rare, so don't expect to be able to rely on them.

Louie's notes

Most of the edible matter is covered in a poisonous oil that's nigh impossible to remove. The flower also spoils immediately once it's plucked.

Ivory Candypop Buds can be found distributed throughout the Toxin Territory in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. They are found in groups of three to four, and each can transform up to ten Pikmin into White Pikmin if they are not already that color. After changing ten non-White Pikmin, an Ivory Candypop Bud will wilt and disappear. They regenerate every six days.

Ivory Candypop Buds in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers are similar to the ones found in the Mission Mode of Pikmin 3. In the Primordial Pit, during the battle against the Venowraith, since White Pikmin are required to defeat the boss, if every White Pikmin in the sublevel perishes, an Ivory Candypop Bud will drop into the side of the arena to allow for further supplement.

Notes

Olimar's notes

The mystery of the Candypop Buds is an everlasting one; for every Pikmin that falls into the pistil of these flowers, it spits out a corresponding seed bearing the color of the flower's petals. In this case, the toxic White Pikmin are the result of this amazing process. Ivory Candypop Buds lack the toxins of their Pikmin, but usually spoil too fast after being dispatched for predators to safely consume them.

Louie's notes

What Olimar said. This enticing flower spoils way too fast for consumption. It probably wilts before it can even reach your small intestine, even if you do consume it while fresh.

Ship's comments

Simplicity sometimes speaks more than complexity, but not in this case. I prefer the other colors over this one. I guess it's good to have it around, though.
