Attacks Eats and stuns Pikmin

The Bugle Stakeshrew is a mammalian creature in Pikmin: Shipwrecked Stargazers. It has a quilled, brown hide, green, curious eyes, a pink underbelly, and a long grey snout that ends in a funnel. The Bugle Stakeshrew's appearance is based on the echidna. In a similar vein to the Foraging Stakeshrew, the Bugle Stakeshrew will scour its habitat for food sources. Occasionally, they stand on their back feet and sniff the surrounding air. If leaders or Pikmin come near the Bugle Stakeshrew, it will give pursuit. Like the Vehemoth Phosbat, the Bugle Stakeshrew will inhale Pikmin through its throat with a vortex. The Bugle Stakeshrew's back is immune to Pikmin attacks, except for those of Rock Pikmin, with attempts of such only leading to Pikmin getting stunned. Whenever it rears up to sniff the air, its exposed underbelly can be attacked to potentially knock the creature over, allowing for further damage.

Notes

Olimar's notes

The Bugle Stakeshrew uses its acute sense of smell and electromagnetic receptors to locate the specific location of small prey. Being naturally insectivorous, these playful rodents will often use suction force to move clumps of dirt as they locate burrows of their natural prey. Pikmin are not natural prey of the Bugle Stakeshrew, but they do suffice.

Louie's notes

The succulent meat of this curious creature goes well when glazed in fruit juices. Also be sure to apply light butter to the frying pan to ensure the meat doesn't get welded on for all eternity.

Ship's comments

I mean, it does look cute. I just worry about that large nozzle of its. Could it eat larger objects with it? If so, what if it reaches my treasure hoard?
