The Geeshrimp is an oceanic enemy that appears in the Pikmin: Interstellar Cryptid DLC, Operation: Rubber Ducky Overboard. True to their name, they resemble the Geegant, but with a long, shrimp-like tail instead of feet. Their armor is taupe-colored and they have light brown skin. Their eyes are a golden-yellow color. The Geeshrimp primarily lives in the oceans surrounding Prosperous Shore, with the area's inland tropics being home to their freshwater brethren. Like terrestrial krukadons, the Geeshrimp lies in wait, buried in the ground. Its cranial armor and eyes are exposed and in the open, indicating where they are hidden. When approached, the Geeshrimp will burst out of the sand and swim at the squad in short bursts of speed. Their armor, though weaker than Geegant armor, makes them more durable than most enemies, and Diver Pikmin can only remain in the water for so long before breaching. The Geeshrimp can breathe on land for a limited time; this is represented through a blue wheel that slowly depletes. When it is empty, the Geeshrimp will make a beeline back to the seas it came from. While it is surfaced, it can be flipped over like a Geegant, allowing for ample time to turn the tables on the beast. It is inspired by the standard Mirelurks from Fallout 4.

Notes

Olimar's notes

Much like their presumed distant cousins in the grub-dog family, krukadons have recently exhibited traits analogous to those seen in unrelated biological orders. The tail of the geeshrimp is comparable to the tail of a shrimp, and pleopods similar to an isopod. These two adaptations work in conjunction with each other, allowing for both evasive maneuvers and unending pursuit when the time calls for it. It displays residual traits of a terrestrial lifestyle, suggesting that they evolved from krukadons having to adapt to rising water levels and an increase in aquatic prey items.

Louie's notes

It's as simple as lobster! Steam it, grill it, or even grate it in a cajun casserole. Whatever you do, make sure you have enough butter sauce to go around. We'll all thank you for it!

Structural flaw: inadaptibility
Weight: 7

If this creature didn't completely forgo its original tactics in favor of naval combat, it would've been a formidable apex predator! However, in its current state, leaving water is to this beast's immense detriment. Assailing it on dry land is like striking Achilles in the heel. Wait a minute... I completely forgot who that guy was, but the name and thing about the heel sound familiar. Hmmm...

Brittany's comments

When I stared it down and I watched me back, I thought I'd found pearls made out of pure gold! Wishful thinking is a cruel mistress, and its true body is about as dull as a suit of armor everybody has forgotten about for a century.

Charlie's comments

My rubber ducky prepared me for this accursed day. Though my experience in the navy was rather lacking, I nonetheless persevered from what I'd learned back at home. It's silly to say, but it's true. After all, I've always been more into the aerial aspect of things.
