The Barbed Crushblat is an enemy appearing in Pikmin 44. It is found all throughout the ground level of Twisting Treetops, and in some caves, namely Vegetative Waterworks. It is similar to its cousin, the Calcified Crushblat, however, it is slightly smaller and faster and covers its body in brambles instead of crystal. Barbed Crushblats can be found hiding in tall grass and bushes, springing out when Pikmin walk past. Rock Pikmin are immune to its crushing attacks, but are unable to deal any damage to it due to its protective brambles, harmlessly bouncing off of the spines. Only Jungle Pikmin will be able to latch onto its body and deal damage without being hurt. All other Pikmin types will die when attempting to latch on, or when crushed underneath its body.
