Notes
Olimar's observations
- “At last! After exploring so much of this planet without the power of the Purple Pikmin, we finally found their Candypop Buds. It took exploring as far into the Flooded Fields as we could. Now that we have them, it seems like getting more of them won't be an easy task. Only a few places in the whole world actually have them present. Is this the Candypop Buds playing tricks on us? It can't be a coincidence that the hardest to find bud is the most useful one. If only the Purple Pikmin could have an Onion like the primary colors. Then we wouldn't need to rely on these flowers.”
Cookin' with Louie
- “This convenient purple flower secretes a dark, flavorful oil that eliminates the need for salad dressing!”

Violet Candypop Buds appear in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs, where they are distributed throughout the Loaf Territory of the Land of Wonders. They may be found alone or in pairs, and each one can transform up to ten Pikmin into Purple Pikmin before wilting away and disappearing. Purple Pikmin that are thrown in simply revert to leaf-stage maturity. After three in-game days have passed, wilted Violet Candypop Buds reappear, and those that have fewer than ten uses remaining have their uses replenished.

Notes
Olimar's notes
- “This flower always produces one Purple Pikmin for each Pikmin thrown in. As I have not been able to return a specimen, I have been unable to see how it does this. Perhaps it had the Purple Pikmin there in the first place and is just eating the ones thrown in?”
Ship's notes
- “This flower may inject a thrown-in Pikmin with a purple pigment that alters the Pikmin's color and attributes. Further study shall be conducted with a Pellet Posy and this specimen.”

Olimar's notes
- “These flowers have the strange ability to change the colors of Pikmin. Perhaps it applies some sort of pigment that alters the bodily functions and, obviously, the color of Pikmin thrown in. Research shall continue later.”
