The Blistering Blowhog is an enemy appearing in Pikmin 44. It is found all throughout the later sections of Molten Crater, and in some caves, namely Blowhog Repository and Humidified Hot Springs. It is similar to the Withering Blowhog in that it is a smaller airborne blowhog, however, it is a deeper red color and can burn Pikmin in addition to deflowering them.

Notes

Collin's notes

After its fiery attack, the Blistering Blowhog makes an awful, almost laugh-like noise. It's a chilling sound that, honestly, sends shivers down my spine. It's as if it's taunting us, mocking our efforts. It's quite unsettling.

Brittany's notes

This strange creature has this peculiar talent for withering our Pikmin's flowers. It's like it's critiquing their fashion choices or something! Honestly, who knew that blowhogs could be such fashionistas? Now, I can't help but wonder if Aunt Bea would have any advice on dealing with this heat. She always had a knack for staying cool under pressure. Maybe she'd recommend a stylish parasol or a fabulous fan to keep us comfortable in this scorching situation.

Louie's notes

Now, imagine this: a spicy Blistering Blowhog stir-fry. Sautéed to perfection, its meat would be tender, smoky, and bursting with flavor. Serve it up with some saffron-infused Pikpik carrots, and you've got yourself a gourmet delight.

Alph's notes

Structural flaw: weak hide / Weight: 1. After expelling a scorching burst of heat, the Blistering Blowhog retreats into the air momentarily. This behavior appears to be a defensive tactic, giving it some respite after the fiery outburst and possibly allowing it to reposition itself.

Shepherd's notes

The laugh, if you can even call it that, is spine-chilling. It resonates in the darkest corners of my thoughts, echoing in my dreams. I often wonder what could make a creature emit such a dreadful sound. Is it merely a byproduct of its fiery abilities, or does it have a more sinister intent? I can't help but shudder at the thought.

Charlie's notes

Handle it cautiously! The Blistering Blowhog is a threat to our Pikmin, especially the non-Red types. It expels searing heat that can burn our friends to a crisp and has a peculiar effect on their flowers. Always keep Red Pikmin on the front lines when dealing with this fiery adversary.

Olimar's notes

Blistering Blowhog / Sus pustula / Blowhog family. The Blistering Blowhog is a close relative of the Withering Blowhog that uses the same fiery expulsion method as its land-dwelling cousin the Fiery Blowhog. One of the biggest biological mysteries on this planet that still evades me is the evolutionary relationship between terrestrial blowhogs and aerial blowhogs, if they are even related at all.

Attacks Blows hot air

The Blistering Blowhog is a blowhog in Pikmin: Travel to Icarus 172. It floats on the surface of water, using its four side fins and the big fin on its back to speed along the surface, and blows hot air into it to temporarily make it boil. When enough Pikmin latch onto it, it will begin to struggle to shake Pikmin off as it begins to sink. During this time, it will try to escape its attackers, facing them all the while.
