The Mecha Snagret is a boss snavian appearing in Pikmin: The After Years. The creature has an appearance similar to the Burrowing Snagret, and shares some behavioral characteristics with it, but has been fused with mechanical components that enhance its lethality. Concealed within the Mecha Snagret's beak is a rustproof cannon it uses in its elemental attacks, and an advanced laser sight, similar to that of the Man-at-Legs, points at its current target. The hazard a Mecha Snagret is about to use is indicated by the color of the liquid coursing through its body: red for fire, yellow for electricity, blue for water, purple for poison, black for adhesive, green for acid, cyan for ice, and white for a screech that deflowers all Pikmin but Purple Pikmin. To stun and attack the Mecha Snagret, throw a Pikmin into its mouth while it attacks; doing so will make the attack misfire into the creature, slightly damaging it and revealing its power source, a mysterious black crystal on its stomach that can be attacked by any Pikmin of any color. Upon defeat, the Mecha Snagret will utter one final cry before exploding.
