Attacks Eats Pikmin, smothers Pikmin

The Swampy Bulboar is a species of grub-hog appearing in Pikmin: Neo. They have a gray face and brown hide, and yellowed tusks and teeth. Dwelling in swamps, these beasts live with their children, the Lesser Swampy Bulboar. Doting parents during the day, these creatures hide their children in puddles of mud before heading out to collect nutrients for their children, hunting for their favorite food: members of the sporovid family, particularly the rare Black Saltcaps dotting the jungle. Using their tusks to break through the fungi's fleshy caps, they then take the meat off of these mushrooms and carry it back to their den, where their children hide. During the night, the Swampy Bulboar sleeps with its children, them eating at the hunted fungi and acting as watchdogs for their sleeping parents. Regardless of the time, they have the same method of attack when dealing with Pikmin, which is to scatter the mud covering their bodies onto the ground, smothering Pikmin and burying them in the process. Afterward, they use their tusks to unearth Pikmin sprouts and eat them. These beasts should be quickly killed to avoid any complicated casualties.

Notes

Olimar's notes

These bulboars, while biologically similar to bulborbs, have some drastically differing parenting styles. While the bulborb has their children fend for themselves, the bulboar actively dotes on and protects its children from harm. This particular species hides its children in mud to protect them from the dangerous world of the swamp, something I can relate to as well.

Louie's notes

The meat is too gummy to enjoy. Best used as food for unpleasant inlaws.
