Prisms are gemstones of various sizes, shapes, weights, and colors that project a beam of energy, usually colored light but also possibly hazards or magnetic pulses, from its tip. Usually, the color of the prism indicates what energy the object emits, and a prism's beam can be reflected off a mirror or a similar surface. Some prisms can only be carried by specific Pikmin types.

Prisms are objects appearing in Pikmin: Neo as gemstones of varying sizes, shapes, weights, and colors. They are usually found underground, but some places such as certain vaults also house prisms. Each prism has a transparent crack coming out of it, which from radiates a beam of colored energy. Purple prisms project beams of light that can interact with plants to jumpstart their growth, distract certain animals, and activate certain panels. Red prisms radiate beams of intense heat that can melt ice and burn wood and can only be carried by Red Pikmin due to the intense heat they produce. Cyan prisms, on the contrary, project beams of sheer cold that can freeze water, enemies, and other substances and can only be carried by Hairy Pikmin due the freezing temperatures these objects produce. Finally, black prisms shoot magnetic beams that attract various metals and can only be carried by Plasma Pikmin due the energy radiating from this Pikmin stunning other types. The beams produced by prisms can be redirected by reflective substances and objects such as Reflecting Shinestools. While some prisms are buried in the ground and can't be carried, others can be moved and directed by the captains.
