Attacks Electrocutes and vaporizes Pikmin

The Pulsating Jellystick is a species of jellyfloat appearing in Pikmin: Neo. It resembles an enclosed blue bud slightly bigger than a Lesser Spotted Jellyfloat, with a tentacle-like stalk connecting it to the ground. From this bud-like structure is a series of pulsating nodes and small glowing tentacles. During the day, the jellystick is dormant, being heavily resistant to damage and passively healing its injuries due to its membrane having regenerative properties. At dusk, it blooms, revealing its small tentacles, and releases an electric pulse that stuns nearby prey and can stun and kill smaller animals such as Pikmin, except for Yellow Pikmin. The jellystick's electrical pulses are necessary to charge the creature's light-producing glands. At night, the unfurled tentacles begin to glow and attract small bugs, which are snatched by the tentacles and eaten by the jellystick. The Pulsating Jellystick should be attacked while it feeds, although doing so is dangerous because the creature can use its nodes to release a pulse of light so intense that it instantly vaporizes any small creature nearby and then absorb this vaporized matter to heal itself. Plasma Pikmin are needed to properly attack a Pulsating Jellystick as only they can resist the strong pulses the jellystick creates. Like other members of its family, upon death, the Pulsating Jellystick melts away, leaving behind no corpse, only a few seeds of Sparklium.

Notes

Olimar's notes

I have seen a noticeable lack of lesser spotted jellyfloats during my trips to the many worlds I charted. Coincidentally, when their greater cousins are found, these strange relatives are also found close behind. My theory is that the lesser spotted jellyfloat evolved to live a terrestrial lifestyle and therefore coexist with its greater cousin. It spends most of its time sticking to the side of decaying matter and uses its connecting node to absorb the nutrients from below as well as around it.

Louie's notes

Take the connecting node and fry, batter, and bake it to create a delicious seafood steak.
