Gas pipes are common obstacles in Pikmin 2. Gas pipes emit purple gas that harm non-white Pikmin on touch, but also do not harm Captains. They are found as a orange pipe blocking areas, sometimes even in walls or in bridges, which White Pikmin can be set to attack. Doing so will cause the gas pipe to be damaged to the point where it stops emitting gas, allowing non-white pikmin to pass through.
Gas pipes are hazardous obstacles that are small tubes that emit a steady stream of poison gas. Some are embedded within bramble gates or stick bridges. As they constantly emit poison, White Pikmin, which withstand poison, generally must be used to deactivate them, by attacking them. Alternatively, some enemies can be used to deactivate them.

Appearance in Pikmin 2.
