Moving platforms, also known as floating platforms, are harmless obstacles resembling quadcopter drones. Their top is flat, allowing them to act as platforms. While some moving platforms hover in place, contrary to their name, most move at various speeds around a set path between two or more locations they can be boarded from.

Drones are a returning obstacle appearing in Pikmin 2... Again?. They resemble their Pikmin 4 incarnation, resembling drones with a platform on top. They move vertically, horizontally, or up and down, but they can also move diagonally in any direction. Additionally, each drone has a unique coloration that indicates how it moves; yellow for vertically, blue for horizontally, red for up and down, and green for diagonally. Some drones can be controlled through remote controls, specifically in alternate sublevels, where a leader has to step on the buttons to send the Pikmin onto the drone to a sticker.
