Obstacle

A climbing wall is an obstacle that can be constructed by converting raw material into clay. It is a bumpy vertical surface that can be climbed by Pikmin and leaders to access higher ledges. Indications of where they can be built consist of only their top and bottom parts already being present. To build climbing walls, Pikmin pile clay from the base all the way up to the top in a uniform pattern until the wall is complete.

In fanon games

Below this point is where users place their version of climbing walls.

Although retaining the same name, a climbing wall in Pikmin V is an entirely different obstacle. Climbing walls aren't constructed and can't be climbed by leaders or most Pikmin types; instead, they take the form of rocky walls that can be scaled only by a Clawed Pikmin thanks to its eponymous claws.

Climbing walls are a returning obstacle in Pikmin: Decayed Leaf. These walls can only be found in their unconstructed forms. In order to rebuild it, Pikmin must find the pile of wet clay pieces that belong to the wall. Once brought to the mound and thrown into place, the clay wall will harden and form a bumpy surface that Pikmin and the captain can climb up to reach elevated land. Climbing walls are typically built and traversed from bottom to top, though some are built the other way around.
