Appearance in Pikmin 3.

Electric gates are gates that carry electrical currents. As such, Pikmin that are not Yellow Pikmin can not touch them, lest they risk dying or becoming temporarily paralyzed. Some electric gates feature drawings on the pillars on either side.

In Pikmin 2, electric gates resemble a fence made of metal and sink to the ground as they take damage. In Pikmin 3, they are made of four fluorescent lamps laid horizontally on top of one another, with each lamp breaking down and becoming harmless at each stage of destruction, and when the gate is finally opened, all of its lamps harmlessly explode.

In fanon games

Below this point is where users place their version of electric gates.

In Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs

Electric gates appear in Pikmin: The Winds of Light, and have their Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3 appearances, respectively named the electric fence and electric wall. The electric fence sinks into the ground as it is damaged and kills any Pikmin, except Yellow Pikmin, that touch it, and the electric wall becomes visibly destroyed as it is damaged and merely temporarily paralyzes all Pikmin that are not Yellow Pikmin.
